Senior Human Resources Manager in the Human Resources Office (HRO) (Ref.: 536135)
We are looking for a Senior Human Resources Manager for Employee Relations to join our Human Resources Office and provide high-quality HR services to our organization.
The Role
The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for managing and resolving employee relations issues, including staff complaints, grievances, disputes, and disciplinary actions, through conducting investigations, overseeing case handling, and addressing ongoing inquiries. They will also play a key role in developing, reviewing, and implementing HR policies to ensure alignment with legal requirements and organizational objectives. The role requires close collaboration with various stakeholders, including all HR teams, faculties, departments and other units, to ensure consistency and compliance.
Qualifications and Qualities
- A good Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a higher degree in law or a related field;
- 8+ years’ professional experience in HR management or administration, preferably with a focus on employee relations;
- Knowledge of Hong Kong employment laws and regulations;
- Training or certification in counseling, negotiation, or conflict resolution will be considered a plus;
- Ability to manage and resolve complex employee relations issues independently, demonstrating initiative, sound judgment, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Experience in policy formulation and implementation, demonstrating keen attention to detail and a systematic, methodical approach to developing and integrating effective policies;
- Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting ideas clearly and convincingly, both orally and in writing;
- A good team player who can collaborate with different internal and external stakeholders.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on a fixed-term full-time contract, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary.
