IT Officer/IT Technician in the Centre for Sports and Exercise (Ref.: 526370)

We are looking for an IT Officer/IT Technician to join the Centre for Sports and Exercise to provide technical support on the operations of the Centre.

The Role

The appointee will be responsible for

• Assisting with various IT tasks to support daily operations, website/social media set-up and update, data archiving and security;
• Providing frontline support to internal users;
• Monitoring and troubleshooting computer equipment;
• Coordinating with vendors on purchase, tendering and maintenance as per department’s needs;
• Updating and maintaining inventory records on hardware & software;
• Managing departmental equipment;
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Qualities

• A recognized degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related disciplines, with at least 3 years’ relevant work experience;
• Good knowledge of web-based applications (e.g., HTML, JavaScript), IT and AV technologies;
• Good application knowledge of server maintenance, computer network, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows Server, Linux Server, MS SQL Server or Oracle database;
• Good interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
• Be pleasant with positive mindset, good team player and willing to learn new technologies and techniques;
• Be able to demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and be self-motivated;
• Sound knowledge of web design software, multimedia production, photo-/video-editing software application and proficiency in social media is an advantage.

Those with less experience and/or lower qualifications may be considered for appointment as IT Technician.

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.  A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary.  Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
