Research Assistant II in Economics in the HKU Business School (Ref.: 526402)

We now invite applications for appointment as Research Assistant II in Economics in the HKU Business School.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will assist academic research and teaching in macroeconomics and international economics. Responsibilities include literature review, gathering data, solving macro models, preparing course materials, etc. For academic research, knowledge about graduate level macroeconomics (solving a dynamic model) and software like MATLAB/Stata/Python are desirable. Students planning to apply to a PhD program or are already in a Master/PhD program finding a research topic will benefit from this experience. Communication is in English. Applicants should be interested in research in economics, macroeconomics and/or international economics. Requirements

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Economics, Finance, Statistics or in a related field. Priorities are given to applicants residing in Hong Kong/attending HKU. Also, applicants currently enrolling in/finishing a master's degree or with equivalent skills are given priorities.

 

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on temporary part-time contract to commence on May 1, 2024 or as soon as possible for at least six months with a possibility of extension upon satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with annual leave and medical benefits.
