Executive Officer in the School of Public Health (Ref: 526440)

We are looking for an Executive Officer to join the General Office of the School of Public Health to provide administrative support on the operations of the School.

The Role:

The School of Public Health houses six academic divisions and more than 300 staff. The appointee will provide support to the administration of the School, mainly on human resources and financial management, but also on office operations, research administration, event organization, and other duties as assigned.  He/She may be required to supervise junior staff, and work closely with research teams and administrative staff in the School, Faculty and University offices to support daily operations and strategic development of the School. Working outside office hours and on the weekends may be required occasionally.

Qualifications and Qualities:

  • A good Bachelor’s degree or equivalent;
  • Minimum 3 years’ work experience in human resources, financial management, office or research administration; experience working in Higher Education institutions is an advantage;
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English and Chinese, and a good sense with numbers;
  • Proficiency with MS Office, database management, and other productivity software;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, meticulous, organized and reliable; enthusiastic to take up new projects and improvement works; and
  • Mature with good interpersonal skills; a good team player as well as a self-starter with a positive attitude.

What We Offer:

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
