IT Officer (holding the functional title of Assistant IT Manager)/IT Technician in the Faculty of Dentistry (Ref.: 526436) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Diploma or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related disciplines, with at least 2 years’ relevant work experience in server administration, system shell scripting, process automation, network security, and CMS development and maintenance.  They should have strong problem-solving skills; effective interpersonal and communication skills; proficiency in Mac/PC/Linux and software applications.  They should also be a good team player; responsible; self-motivated; and able to work independently.  Relevant practical experience in website programming (e.g. HTML 5, CSS 3, PHP, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, MySQL and WordPress), database management or cloud technologies would have an advantage.  Those with less experience or lower qualifications may be considered for appointment as IT Technician.

The appointee will be responsible for the development and maintenance of Faculty’s IT infrastructure, programming work, servers maintenance, IT and multimedia support to staff and classes, and perform other duties as assigned.  Working outside normal office hours and on weekends may be required occasionally.
