Applications are invited for appointment as Administrative Assistant II (AAII) / Executive Officer (EO) (several posts) in Research Services of the Registry (Ref.: 526657), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should have a good University degree with at least 8 years’ work experience preferably in the education sector.  Applicants with less experience may be considered for the appointment as EO.  The candidates should have excellent communication skills, inclusive of a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; and IT competency with proficiency in MS Office.  They should also be good team players with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.  The ideal candidates are required to be meticulous, self-motivated, and possess a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to multitask under pressure and tight schedules with minimal supervision. 

The appointees will support the following activities/initiatives of Research Services, duties of which include but are not limited to (i) applications/proposals vetting; (ii) committee servicing; (iii) liaison with internal and external stakeholders; and (iv) event planning and management:

  • Research Assessment Exercise;
  • Funding Schemes for incoming Visiting Professors and outgoing Fellowships;
  • Research Awards;
  • Research Integrity and Research Ethics; and
  • Research Data Management.

Those who have responded to previous advertisements (Ref: 523680 and 524499) need not re-apply.  A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointments will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
