Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the Division of Public Health Laboratory Sciences (PHLS), School of Public Health (Ref.: 524563), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

 

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in research topic related to virus-host interaction and/or virus bioinformatics. They should have exceptional research and problem-solving skills, and be able to work in a multidisciplinary environment. Preference will be given to those with a strong track record of publications and solid experience in conducting virology, immunology and/or bioinformatics research.

 

The appointee will work on research projects on SARS-CoV-2 under the Division of Public Health Laboratory Sciences. He/She will be involved in all research processes, including inter alia, grant applications, research planning and implementation, supervision of junior research staff and postgraduate students, report and paper writing, and develop one’s own research programme. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary.
