Applications are invited for appointment as Administrative Assistant I/II (AAI/II) (holding the functional title of Senior Manager/Manager) in the Hong Kong Jockey Club Global Health Institute, School of Public Health (Ref.: 525778), to commence as soon as possible, on a two- to three-year contract on fixed-term basis, and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary for AAI and 10% of basic salary for AAII, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants are required to possess a Bachelor's degree, and preferably a higher degree, along with a minimum of 8 years’ administrative experience at supervisory level, preferably in the higher education sector or a public/quasi-public organization. They should possess exceptional administration and management skills, particularly in the areas of human resources and finance; excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; outstanding interpersonal, organizational, project and people management, and problem-solving skills; the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team and multitask under pressure. They should be meticulous and self-motivated with a strong sense of integrity and work ethics. Applicants with less years of administrative experience at a supervisory level will be considered for the position of AAII.

The appointee will assume a pivotal role in the establishment and functioning of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Global Health Institute (GHI), working closely with the three Co-Directors, one from the School of Public Health at The University of Hong Kong, another from the University of Cambridge, and the third from the International Vaccine Institute. He/She will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of administrative functions including human resources, budgeting and financial matters, project planning and management, progress reporting and secretarial work, space planning and utilization, and office management; providing the Co-Directors with essential administrative solutions to any challenges that may arise; liaising with internal and external stakeholders; and performing other duties as assigned. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and/or written test.
