Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Research Assistant/Research Assistant I in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 525889), to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or a two-year fixed term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in public health, medical science, or related disciplines, with at least 3 years’ work experience, and preferably some supervisory experience. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; and IT proficiency (MS Word and Excel). They should be self-motivated, responsible, mature, attentive to details and able to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant I.
The appointee will contribute to community-based studies on the epidemiology and vaccine responses of respiratory virus infections (e.g. COVID-19 and influenza) in Hong Kong. He/She will recruit participants, coordinate projects, conduct regular follow-up through interviews or phone calls, assist in fieldwork, collect door-to-door clinical specimens, and perform general administrative duties and other duties as assigned.
