IT Technician (holding the functional title of Assistant IT Officer) in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 526115) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a recognised Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines. The applicants should have a strong sense of responsibility, good communication and problem-solving skills. They should be a fast-learner; able to work well with the dynamic teaching and research teams in a fast-paced environment; familiar with software installation, technical support, video conferencing and network configuration; and aware of latest industry trends and advancements in video conferencing technologies. Experiences in website development and system maintenance are preferable.  Knowledge in Javascript, PHP Framework, MySQL, Python, NAS, hypervisor would be an advantage.  

The appointee will be responsible for frontline computer support and troubleshooting, including installation, configuration and maintenance of software applications on Windows, macOS, and Linux; conducting regular software and hardware inventory; administering video conferencing systems, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting; development and maintenance of web application systems, and other IT-related duties as assigned.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
