Project Assistant (at the rank of Clerk II/Clerical Assistant) in the Faculty of Dentistry (Ref.: 526368) (to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)

Applicants should possess 5 passes in HKCEE including English (min. Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007), Chinese (Level 2 from 2007) and Mathematics, OR min. Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSEE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics, with at least 1 year’s work experience.  They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (particularly fluent Cantonese); good communication, organizational and problem-solving skills; and proficiency in English and Chinese word processing, and PC applications such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  They should also be a fast learner; attentive to details; self-motivated; meticulous; and able to work independently as well as in a team.  Experience in providing community/kindergarten service in an outreach setting would be an advantage.  Those with lower qualifications or less experience may be considered for appointment as Clerical Assistant.

The appointee will provide administrative and logistics support; coordinate and deliver outreach dental service in kindergartens; organize events for parents and teachers; collect, input and analyze data; frequent contact with kindergartens as well as other parties via phone and email; assist in dental research projects; and perform other duties as assigned.  Working off-campus, outside normal office hours and on weekends are required.  Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.  The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) and submit a copy of letter with the checking code provided by the SCRC Office for result checking.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed-term will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totaling up to 10% of the basic salary.
