Applications are invited for appointment as Director of Counselling and Person Enrichment in the Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) (Ref.: 526578), to commence in September 2024, on a three-year fixed term basis in the first instance, with the possibility of renewal.

The Director is expected to provide overall leadership and management of the Counselling and Person Enrichment Section of CEDARS. We are seeking a dynamic individual who can provide strategic vision, foster collaboration within and outside the Section, and ensure the delivery of evidence-based services to our diverse student population. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in working with students transitioning to young adulthood and have some familiarity with e-mental health approaches in service delivery.

In this role, the Director will be responsible for managing the professional counselling personnel to deliver a high-quality psychological service to students facing educational, emotional, and psychological challenges. He/ She will also handle crisis management and take up student cases, ensuring timely and effective interventions. Additionally, the Director will supervise the development of a comprehensive special educational needs support service and create relevant programmes focused on mental health education and students' personal growth.

Applicants should have a Doctoral or Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, be a registered member of the relevant recognized professional body in Hong Kong, and possess at least 10-15 years’ management or professional experience in a mental health care setting with a proven record of achievement and success.  Excellent interpersonal and clinical skills are required.  Applicants must be fluent in English, Cantonese, and Putonghua.  Experience in a university/college counselling setting is beneficial and preferred.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
