Executive Officer in the General Office, School of Public Health (Ref.: 526646)

The Role

The appointee will support the Communications and Public Relations Team in the General Office of the School in planning, developing, and implementing a spectrum of communications and public relationships initiatives. Major responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support branding strategies and integrated communications plans that will raise the profile and enhance the branding of the School;
  • Promote scientific research, educational programmes and public health service of the School via website, social media, e-bulletin, press release as well as internal and external communication;
  • Facilitate the production of multimedia deliverables such as graphic design and video clips;
  • Plan and execute a variety of school-wide events, including forums, summits, ceremonies, lectures, visits, and other activities; and
  • Undertake any other duties assigned.

Qualifications and Qualities

  • Possess a good bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a major relevant to Communications, Journalism or Marketing preferred;
  • With at least 3 years of full-time work experience in corporate communications, public relations, digital marketing, or a related field;
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills in English and Chinese;
  • Strong IT proficiency including good knowledge in website content management system, graphic design and video production. Knowledge of using software for multimedia production will be an advantage;
  • Good understanding of digital marketing channels, including social media, email marketing and display advertising;
  • Be mature, organized and responsible; demonstrate good interpersonal and problem-solving skills; and
  • Be able to multitask under pressure, work well both independently and in a team, and work with people from diverse backgrounds.  

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on a fixed-term basis for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
