Research Assistant I/II (holding the functional title of Data Analyst) (several posts) in the Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care (Ref.: 530026)

Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will evaluate public health service, pharmacoepidemiology and epidemiological studies on non-communicable diseases using 3 million population-based cohorts in Hong Kong and 8 million United Kingdom. He/She will prepare literature review; perform data analysis; prepare academic publications and reports for funded projects; and the tasks assigned by the supervisors. On-the-job training in advanced programming (R and Stata) will be provided. The post will provide an excellent opportunity to develop a research career involving advanced statistical programming and big data cohort analysis. Requirements
- a Bachelor's degree or above in Public Health, Biomedical Sciences or Statistics
- good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
- have the ability to multitask and work independently as well as in a team
- Knowledge of statistics or big data analysis, and interest in pursuing postgraduate study (M.Phil. or Ph.D.) would be advantageous.
- a strong sense of responsibility
- good organizational skills
- an excellent command of written and spoken Chinese and English
- attentive to details
- independent research skills and capability
- experience in project coordination and policy research is preferred, but not essential
