Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will participate in various pharmacoepidemiology and epidemiological studies to assess the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of interventions, medication, and health services.  They are expected to assist the core project team in planning and coordinating research projects, evaluate territory-wide programs, oversee data collection and analysis, prepare reports and presentations, supervise research assistants, and perform other relevant tasks as assigned.  There will be many opportunities to collaborate with research and health professionals to develop a research career in health and health services.  Enquiries about the duties of the post should be sent to Dr. Eric Wan at yfwan@hku.hk .

 

Requirements

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in the field of public health, biostatistics, pharmacoepidemiology and epidemiological studies with at least 1 year’s post-qualification experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years’ post-qualification experience in healthcare-related disciplines.  They should be proficient in data analysis using statistical or computer modelling software, such as Stata or R.  They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English, and have the ability to multitask and work independently as well as in a team.  They should be organized, self-motivated, and have the ability to multitask and work independently as well as in a team.  Experience in large-scale research project management and development, knowledge of statistics and big data analysis would be highly desirable, and interest in pursuing postgraduate study (M.Phil. or Ph.D.) would be advantageous

The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
