Technical Officer/Senior Technical Assistant in the School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 530189) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Higher Diploma OR 5 passes in HKCEE including English, Chinese and Mathematics, OR minimum Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSEE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics, with 5 years’ relevant work experience in tertiary institutions or public/quasi-public organizations.  They should be mature, self-motivated, a good team player with a strong sense of responsibility and positive attitude.  A good command of English and Chinese as well as an appropriate level of IT skills (especially in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint) are essential.  Experience in clinics or healthcare institutes is preferred.  Those with lower qualifications and/ or less experience may be considered for appointment as Senior Technical Assistant.

The appointee will provide day-to-day logistical and administrative assistance to the HKU Health System Clinical Centre, perform vital sign measurements (e.g. ECG, venepuncture and respirator fit test) and schedule appointments, screen and refer phone calls, communicate and interact with patients, provide clerical support to the Centre including word processing, assist with clinical and/ or laboratory procedures, and perform other duties as assigned.  Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview.
