IT Technician for User Service Team in Information Technology Services (Ref.: 530215)
Information Technology Services provides central IT services to support the University’s teaching, learning, research and administrative activities. The Role
- Providing technical support to end users;
- Ensuring the proper functioning of users’ desktops, laptops, and other devices;
- Working closely with the system team to provide timely and effective solutions to end-user issues; and
- Resolving both hardware and software issues.
Qualifications and Qualities
- A diploma in Information Technology or a related discipline
- A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
- Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and a team player
- Certifications of ITIL and CTS, and relevant working experience in project management are preferred.
They should have knowledge of or experience in some of the following areas:
- Providing technical support to end-users either in-person or remotely
- Troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues, and escalating issues to second-tier support when necessary
- Resolving network connectivity problems
- Hands-on experiences in maintenance of LAN sockets and testing network cable connectivity
- Hands-on experience in supporting both Windows and MAC platforms
- Hands-on experience in supporting iOS and Android devices
- VIP supporting
- Responsible for installing and configurating various hardware and software components, such as printers, desktops, laptops, Operating Systems, and productivity software
- Ensuring that all systems and equipment are in compliance with corporate policies and legal requirements, such as data privacy laws and regulations.
- Hands-on experience in supporting computer-based audio-visual solutions including webcasting, video streaming, and video conferencing.
- Familiar with live streaming and video conference solutions, and software management (experience with Microsoft Teams, Zoom and knowledge with different end-point devices are preferred)
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
