Manager/Assistant Manager (at the rank of Administrative Assistant II/Executive Officer) in the HKU Research Hub of Population Studies (Population Hub) under the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref: 530544) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance).
Applicants should possess a good Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of experience in project management, preferably in tertiary education institutions. They should be competent communicators with an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); possess strong interpersonal, organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills and be attentive to details. They should also be able to work independently or in a team on multi-tasking under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Preference will be given to those with experience in managing a similar layout of a research centre or large-scale research project. Candidates with less experience will be considered for the appointment as Executive Officer.
The appointee will work closely with the Director and the management team in implementing and overseeing the operation of the Population Hub. He/She will work with the research team and provide administrative support in the areas of project planning and management, grants and awards applications, human resources and financial matters. He/She will also organise research and knowledge exchange events and activities for the Population Hub, liaise and coordinate with project collaborators and stakeholders, provide secretarial support to relevant committees, and perform general office administration as well as other duties as assigned.
