Clerk I / II (several posts) in the Maintenance and Operations Unit of the Estates Office (Ref.: 530580) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess 5 passes in HKCEE including English (min. Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007), Chinese (Level 2 from 2007) and Mathematics; OR min. Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics, with at least 6 years’ relevant clerical/supervisory work experience; OR a recognized degree/diploma with not less than 4 years’ relevant experience.  They should have a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese; hands-on computer knowledge; good interpersonal and organizational skills; the ability to attend to details (including figures) and work independently.  Previous work experience in tertiary institutions, construction related organizations, facilities management industry or accounting firm would be an advantage. 

Those with less experience or lower qualifications will be considered for appointment as Clerk II.

The appointees will prepare documents such as letters, memos, reports, purchase orders, quotations, tenders and invoices; assist in preparing presentation material and conducting data input; act as Help Desk to handle general enquiries; supervise/liaise with direct labour and contractors; schedule meetings and provide clerical support to the team and perform other duties as assigned.  Enquiries about the post should be sent to eojobs@hku.hk.
