Assistant Manager (at the rank of Executive Officer) in the Techno-Entrepreneurship Core (Ref.: 531571) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.)
Applicants should possess:
- a Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) or other related disciplines, with a higher degree a plus;
- at least 5 years’ work experience in at least one of these areas: start-up business, technology commercialisation, innovation management and/or start-up incubation programme;
- experience in event management, community building and/or public communications;
- an excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
- exceptional interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills;
- the ability to work independently with initiative;
- the capacity for independent judgement;
- a strong interest in the latest scene of entrepreneurship, technology development and markets in Hong Kong and worldwide.
The appointee will primarily work for Techno-Entrepreneurship Core, the University’s innovation & entrepreneurship resource centre (www.tec.hku.hk) to support its existing entrepreneurship programmes as well as new initiatives. He/She will be responsible for designing and implementing community engagement programmes; connection and partnership with internal/external stakeholders, faculty members, students, graduates, start-ups, etc.; event management, public relationship and marketing, with control of resources, logistics arrangement, and deliverables; and performing other duties as assigned. The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours and/or travel occasionally. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
