Facilities Officer (holding the functional title of Assistant Facilities Manager) in the Estates Office (Ref.: 531670)

 

We are looking for a Facilities Officer (holding the functional title of Assistant Facilities Manager) to join the Estates Office.

 

The Role

The appointee will be accountable for the following duties:

 

(1) Overseeing day-to-day building maintenance, improvement works, and renovation projects of senior staff quarters;

 

(2) Managing the tendering process, monitoring site progress, supervising contractors, and maintaining communication with relevant parties for service agreements and certificate renewals; and

 

(3) Engaging with residents and the facilities management service provider to uphold high-quality standards in the accommodation for the university senior staff.

 

The appointee may need to work shifts, overtime, and on public holidays subject to prior arrangements, and act as an emergency team coordinator outside regular office hours.

Qualifications and Qualities

Applicants should possess a University degree in Building Services, Facilities/Property Management, or related fields, along with a minimum of 10 years’ relevant work experience, including at least 4 years in a supervisory role.  Alternatively, candidates should hold a Certificate or Diploma, preferably in Building Surveying, Building/Fire Services, or related disciplines, with a minimum of 12 years' relevant work experience.

Applicants should be proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD, and have acquired practical experience in utilizing computer-aided facilities management systems.  Additionally, applicants must possess a valid Certificate of Registration of Electrical Worker (A or above) and a valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card) issued in compliance with Chapter 59 of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance. This includes attending recognized safety training courses approved by the Commissioner for Labour or equivalent. A valid driving license is also required for this position.

What We Offer

 

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.  A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary.  Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
