Applications are invited for appointment as Manager (at the rank of Administrative Assistant II) at the Development & Alumni Affairs Office (DAAO) (Ref.: 534636) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance).
The DAAO is seeking a proactive, achievement‑oriented professional to champion donor outreach and engagement. Key Responsibilities
- Drive donor outreach strategies with creativity and initiative, re‑engaging lapsed donors and cultivating new prospects;
- Serve as an ambassador of HKU, building trust and enthusiasm through strong engagement and networking;
- Create memorable experiences through events, campaigns, and personalized engagement;
- Motivate and inspire donors to deepen their connection with HKU;
- Collaborate with colleagues and faculty partners to craft innovative approaches to donor communication;
- Represent HKU confidently at donor meetings and networking opportunities;
- Take ownership of outreach efforts, monitoring and evaluating outcomes to strengthen future initiatives; and
- Identify, cultivate, and secure philanthropic support from high-net-worth individuals and organisations, expanding HKU’s donor base and driving sustainable growth in donations.
Qualifications & Attributes
- A Bachelor’s degree is required;
- An advanced degree in STEM discipline is preferred;
- At least 6 years’ experience in engagement, networking, or relationship‑building roles;
- Achievement‑oriented, proactive, and able to take initiatives independently;
- Strong communication and storytelling skills with the ability to motivate and inspire;
- All‑rounded professional with creativity, adaptability, and results‑driven mindset;
- Outgoing personality, self‑motivated, and confident in building connections; and
- Proficiency in English; Cantonese/Mandarin is an advantage.
