Senior Technical Officer in the School of Biomedical Sciences (Ref.: 534700) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, with solid experience in application and web development. They should have at least 5 years’ hands-on experience in developing and deploying production-grade software, including mobile applications and web frontends. They should also be highly motivated, able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and comfortable collaborating with academic, clinical and industry partners.

The appointee will play a key role in developing and maintaining software systems that support digital health and research projects. His/her responsibilities include, but are not limited to: designing, developing and maintaining iOS, Android and web applications; integrating software with external devices and platforms (e.g. ECG and other biomedical hardware) via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), USB/UART and related protocols; implementing and maintaining databases and APIs; ensuring application security, performance and reliability; preparing technical documentation and deployment pipelines; and providing technical support and troubleshooting to users and project teams. Experience in ReactJS/Next.js, Swift, Kotlin, PHP, MySQL, and cloud-based deployment, as well as familiarity with AR, Unity integration or Web3/NFT platforms, would be a strong advantage.
