Part-time Junior Library Assistant (Special Collections) in the University Libraries (Ref.: 534717)
 
We are looking for a Part-time Junior Library Assistant to join the University Libraries to provide support to the Special Collections.
 
The Role
 
The appointee will be responsible for:
 
• RFID tagging exercise, including retrieval, processing, cleaning and shelving of the materials; 
 
• assisting with daily operations of the Special Collections, including counter duties and handling users' enquiries; 
 
• assisting with online and walk-in reservations of research desks and the preparation of reserved materials; 
 
• acting as the front of house to help with facilities and spatial management of Special Collections;
 
• administrative tasks including packaging and delivery of Special Collections materials; and other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications and Qualities
 
Applicants should possess 5 passes in HKCEE OR a minimum Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSEE with at least 5 years’ relevant post-qualification work experience, preferably in a tertiary institution. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, strong computer literacy (such as MS Office), and the ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks. They should also be a good team player, hardworking and self-motivated.
 
What We Offer
 
The appointment will be made on temporary part-time hourly-paid contract (not more than 16.5 hours per week), to commence in May 2026 till Dec 2026.
