Senior Research Assistant /Research Assistant I/II in the Division of Geriatric Medicine of the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 534788)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work on multiple research projects under the supervision of the Principal Investigator
  • Conduct qualitative research activities for ongoing studies, including participant recruitment, semi-structured interviews, focus groups, and thematic analysis
  • Lead the development, deployment, and maintenance of AI chatbots for medical education
  • Collaborate with technical teams on chatbot design, testing, and refinement
  • Coordinate research projects, including ethics applications, data collection, and study logistics
  • Administer questionnaires, manage research databases, and perform quantitative data analysis
  • Conduct literature reviews and assist with manuscript preparation and report writing
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or above in Psychology, Social Sciences, Public Health, Nursing, Medicine, Computer Science, Information Technology, Health Informatics, Education or other related disciplines; with at least 3 years' post-qualification experience, and preferably with some supervisory experience
  • Experience in using qualitative research software (e.g., NVivo) and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R)
  • Possess skills in qualitative research methodology, including experience conducting interviews, focus groups, and thematic analysis
  • Possess technical skills in AI/machine learning, software development, or information technology, with experience in server management, platform development, or chatbot/conversational AI systems
  • A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivation, maturity, responsibility, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in education research, medical education, or end-of-life care research is an advantage

The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
