Applications are invited for appointment as Manager/ Executive (at the rank of Administrative Assistant II/ Executive Officer) at the Development & Alumni Affairs Office (DAAO) (Ref.: 535014) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance).

Key Responsibilities

The appointee will play a key role in planning and delivering impactful projects and events, including high-level institutional initiatives such as anniversaries, seminars, fireside chats, media campaigns and other strategic engagement activities. Responsibilities include:

  • Planning, coordinating and delivering projects and events from concept to completion;
  • Managing and enhancing the creative development process of events and projects, from initial planning through to final execution;
  • Overseeing event logistics, production coordination, venue liaison, vendor management, timelines and budgets;
  • Leading on-site event operations to ensure smooth, professional and high-quality delivery;
  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered effectively, on time and to a high standard; and
  • Contributing ideas and solutions in a collaborative and results-driven environment.

 Requirements

The appointee should possess:

  • A good university degree with at least 5–6 years’ relevant experience;
  • Proven experience in event management, event production, project management or related fields;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing external vendors, agencies and production teams;
  • Strong budgeting, resource planning and cost control skills;
  • Excellent organisational and project management capabilities, with strong attention to detail;
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining quality and professionalism;
  • A proactive, resourceful and hands-on approach to problem-solving;
  • The ability to work independently with initiative, while also thriving as a collaborative team player;
  • Experience in stage management and/or production would be an advantage;
  • Proactive, passionate and committed to excellence, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to connect effectively with people from diverse backgrounds; and
  • Good command of written and spoken English and/or Chinese.

What We Offer

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary. Applicants with less experience may be considered for appointment as Executive.
