Senior Technical Officer in the School of Biomedical Sciences (Ref.: 535071) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Life Science or a related discipline, with at least 4 years’ relevant experience in mortuary work, embalming and prosecting animal or human specimens. Experience in new soft-embalming techniques such as Barton’s method and Thiel’s method would be an advantage. Applicants should have basic knowledge of human anatomy; a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; good knowledge of MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access); and good communication, organizational and problem-solving skills. Applicants should have experience using Anatomage and Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality teaching equipment; and the ability to independently manage teaching arrangements. Applicants should also be self-motivated and able to work as a team and independently.

The appointee is expected to provide technical support to embalming services; undertake manual work; handle human cadavers; lead tours of the anatomy laboratory and explain to the public; independently manage teaching arrangements; organize clinical workshops; and perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.  Occasional working on weekends/public holidays may be required.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
