Technical Manager I/II in the Project Division of the Estates Office (Ref.: 536548)
We are looking for a Technical Manager I/II to join the Estates Office.
The Role
The appointee will be an all-rounded candidate who will undertake comprehensive project duties from inception to post-completion. He/she will also be responsible for developing, implementing and managing Building Information Modelling (BIM) models and processes across various projects to enhance coordination, efficiency and project delivery.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining BIM models in accordance with project requirements and standards; coordinating with various parties including architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure BIM consistency and accuracy; supporting BIM-related training and providing technical guidance for project teams; ensuring compliance with company BIM standards and procedures and keeping abreast of the latest BIM technologies and industry best practices.

Qualifications and Qualities
Applicants should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree or above in Architecture / Building Services Engineering or a related discipline;
- At least 8 years’ relevant experience at a supervisory level in project planning, management, site supervision and customer relationship management;
- Proven experience with BIM software such as AutoCAD, Revit, etc;
- Familiarity with BIM standards and protocols (e.g. CIC BIM Standards, ASD BIM Guides, BD BIM Standards, etc);
- Strong co-ordination and communication skills;
- Proven ability to conduct regular site inspections to assess the quality of remedial works, ensuring compliance with established standards and university specifications;
- A solid understanding of building construction, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems;
- Technical proficiency combined with strong emotional intelligence, and the capability to handle staff and student complaints with patience and diplomacy; and
- A valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card) issued in accordance with Chapter 59 of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance (i.e. by attending the relevant safety training courses which are recognized by the Commissioner for Labour) or equivalent.
Those with less experience or lower qualifications may be considered for appointment as Technical Manager II.
What We offer
The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary.
