Manager (Faculty Advancement) (at the rank of Administrative Assistant II) in the Faculty of Dentistry (Ref.: 536566)

We are looking for a Manager (Faculty Advancement) (at the rank of Administrative Assistant II) to join the Faculty Advancement Strategy Team of the Faculty of Dentistry.

The Role

The appointee will lead a team to support and coordinate various initiatives such as the Global Hub for Future Dentistry, Continuing Professional Development (CPD), alumni engagement, fundraising, strategic development, and international outreach and impact.  Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting initiatives and activities via the Faculty’s Global Hub for Future Dentistry, including international collaborations, strategic partnerships and global outreach;
  • Leading the promotion, coordination and logistic arrangement for CPD programmes;
  • Managing alumni relations and engagement activities to strengthen connections and foster a vibrant alumni community regionally, nationally and internationally;
  • Overseeing fundraising and donation-related activities, cultivating donor relationships, and supporting the Faculty’s philanthropic development;
  • Supporting strategic development projects aligned with the Faculty’s long-term advancement goals;
  • Supporting off-campus development initiatives, including external partnerships, outreach activities, community engagement and other projects that advance the Faculty’s strategic objectives;
  • Providing administrative support to working groups and task forces;
  • Supervising and motivating a team to deliver quality outcomes under tight deadlines;
  • Coordinating events, campaigns, and initiatives that promote the Faculty’s local and international visibility and reputation, including the upcoming 45th anniversary celebration activities;
  • Preparing reports, proposals, and communications for internal and external stakeholders; and
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Qualities

  • A Bachelor’s degree or above with at least 6 years of solid administrative experience, preferably in tertiary education institutions;
  • An excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese;
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to build effective relationships with external stakeholders;
  • Excellent skills in fostering strong professional engagement;
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively as a team player;
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the capacity to multitask;
  • Adaptability and willingness to respond to changing circumstances and take on new responsibilities as required;
  • Strong decision-making, organizational, time-management, interpersonal and problem-solving skills;
  • An appropriate level of IT proficiency; and
  • Ability to motivate junior staff to deliver quality work under tight deadlines.

Occasional travel outside Hong Kong and work outside regular office hours (including evenings and weekends) may be required for duty-related events/activities.

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.  A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary.  Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
