Full-Stack Web Developer (at the rank of IT Technician) in the Division of Restorative Dental Sciences of the Faculty of Dentistry (Ref.: 536603)

We are looking for a Full-Stack Web Developer (at the rank of IT Technician) to join the Division of Restorative Dental Sciences of the Faculty of Dentistry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain responsive websites and web applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies;
  • Collaborate with front-end designers and stakeholders to define project requirements and create user-focused solutions;
  • Implement and maintain website and web application features and functionality, troubleshooting and debugging as needed;
  • Ensure that website and web application security and data protection best practices are followed;
  • Stay current with the latest full-stack web development trends, technologies, and best practices; and
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients or end-users when necessary.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree with upper second-class honours or above in Computer Science, Web Development, Computer Engineering or a related discipline;
  • At least 1 year of experience in full-stack or front-end web development;
  • Proficiency in Node.js, Express.js, JavaScript and PostgreSQL is preferred;
  • Strong understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility;
  • Experience working with modern front-end frameworks and libraries (e.g. Vue.js);
  • Experience with back-end technologies (e.g. Node.js, Laravel), and both SQL and NoSQL database development;
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment;
  • Preference will be given to those with experience in LLM integrations and knowledge of learning management systems; and
  • High-calibre fresh graduates will also be considered.

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on temporary basis for up to one year, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.  A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
