Full-time/Part-time IT Officer in the Centre for Information Technology in Education within the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 536637)
The Role
The appointee will be responsible for providing technical support to project teams and participating schools in the use of the Centre’s learning platform, Intelligent DEsign-Aware Learning analytics empowered 21C Learning & Teaching System (IDEALS). Duties also include collecting and analyzing stakeholder feedback and collaborating with project teams to develop design resources. The appointee will develop online professional development and training materials to support teachers and students in using e-learning tools and resources, including AI, for curriculum and pedagogical innovation. He/She will also be responsible for creating and maintaining the Centre’s project websites as well as supporting the implementation of different surveys and assessments.
Qualifications and Qualities
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, or a related discipline, with at least three years of experience supporting educational technology or e-learning platforms. Essential technical skills include hands-on experience with learning management systems, particularly Moodle, with strong preference given to candidates with experience in its administration and customization. Proficiency in WordPress or similar content management systems is required, including the ability to customize it using PHP, JavaScript, and CSS. Advanced familiarity with other website builders, such as Wix and Squarespace, is also expected. Strong communication skills are necessary to provide technical support and training to users, as well as to collect and analyze stakeholder feedback. The ability to collaborate effectively with project teams is essential. Priority will be given to candidates who can demonstrate their web development skills through a portfolio.
