Administrative Assistant II, Knowledge Exchange (holding the functional title of Assistant Director) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 536714) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)
Qualifications and Qualities
• a master's degree or above is required, with preference given to candidates holding an interdisciplinary qualification spanning Management, Economics, Finance, International Relations, Administration, or a related field;
• at least 3 years of proven experience in project management or international cooperation is required. Prior exposure to higher education institutions, think tanks, research organizations, or international organizations is highly preferred. Experience in international project management, including cross-border partnerships or multilateral initiatives will be regarded as a significant asset;
• demonstrated experience or working knowledge in knowledge exchange (KE), stakeholder engagement, research communication, or academic administration is expected, with an understanding of KE practices in higher education or business sectors;
• familiarity with the KE landscape in the Chinese Mainland and international contexts is desirable;
• overseas study or working experience is strongly preferred;
• experience in bridging academia and policy/industry is highly desirable;
• excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, with outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and cross-cultural communication skills;
• ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and consistently meet deadlines; and
• a collaborative mindset and demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships in diverse environments.
Key Responsibilities
• assist the Director in leading the management of the Faculty’s KE initiatives, ensuring strategic alignment with institutional goals;
• assist the Director in operational management inside the function and across functions, in particular including research partnership and strategic partnership with internal and external stakeholders;
• assist the Director to engage key KE stakeholders, partners, and collaborators, fostering strong relationships locally and internationally;
• support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of KE projects and partnerships, including those with industry, thank tanks, and policy-oriented entities;
• organize and manage KE events, workshops, seminars, and outreach activities to promote impactful engagement and knowledge dissemination;
• champion KE opportunities within the Faculty and to external audiences, enhancing visibility and impact;
• facilitate effective communication and collaboration between academic staff, students, and KE partners, and supporting the translation of academic research into policy recommendations and practical applications to enhance societal impact;
• support the preparation of funding proposals and the management of KE budgets;
• ensure compliance with relevant university policies and local regulations;
• maintain accurate records and prepare analytical reports on KE activities and outcomes; and
• perform any other duties as assigned by the Director.
