Technical Officer in the Faculty of Dentistry (Ref.: 536760)
We are looking for a Technical Officer, who is expected to provide technical support for the research activities of staff and students from the Faculty of Dentistry, to join the Central Research Laboratories (CRL).
The Role
The appointee will assist members of the CRL technical team in maintaining and operating various scientific laboratory instruments and equipment, managing laboratory infrastructure, and supporting the operation and maintenance of teaching facilities. He/She will also support the Technical Manager and Assistant Technical Manager in maintaining computers and IT equipment, as well as providing audio-visual and IT services to faculty members.
Qualifications and Qualities
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Science or a related field;
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in a tertiary institution, and equipped with skills in:
- Laboratory operations;
- Information technology (IT) support; and/or
- Facilities management (e.g. electrical and mechanical work);
- Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; and
- A good team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
Applicants who are registered Grade A electrical workers and/or possess experience with 3D scanning and printing, as well as experience in maintaining a computer laboratory with over 50 PCs, are preferred.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on a fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence in October 2026, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of the basic salary.
