Counsellor in the Student Wellness Team of the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 536967) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Master’s or a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Counselling or Social Work and be eligible for membership/registration of relevant professional bodies in Hong Kong or overseas, with at least 5 years’ post-qualification counselling experience in tertiary education sector or other mental health agencies. Evidence of providing bi/multilingual counselling service in English and Cantonese, and organizing wellbeing programmes is essential. Passion to work with youth and young adults, with experience in working with high achieving populations are advantages.

The appointee will plan and implement assessment efforts that inform evidence-based practice for programme and services within the scope of the position. He/She will provide screening and risk assessment, individual and group counselling/psychotherapy, crisis intervention and consultation services as appropriate. Working collegially and collaboratively with members of the Student Wellness Team, staff and students of the Faculty, the appointee will develop priorities and goals for the counselling services and outreach programmes in support of student wellbeing/mental health promotion. He/She will also receive regular supervision as well as other opportunities to foster professional development. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
