Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 537083), to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.

 

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in medical sciences, public health, epidemiology, or other related disciplines, with at least two years of post-doctoral research experience. They should demonstrate strong competency in the analysis and interpretation of longitudinal observational data, and have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese. They should have a strong track record of managing and analyzing large-scale healthcare databases and/or electronic health records. Relevant experience in securing competitive research grants, as well as leading and coordinating large-scale research projects in non-communicable disease (NCD) epidemiology and/or health services evaluation, will be advantageous.

 

The appointee will lead a research team to conduct studies in health services research or pharmacoepidemiology. He/She will assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing research projects. Other responsibilities include preparing presentations, manuscripts, reports, and grant applications; supervising junior research staff; and performing any other relevant tasks as assigned. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
