IT Officer in the School of Nursing (Ref.: 537364) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis or one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, with at least 2 years of relevant work experience. Experience in healthcare environments, research projects, or working with AI applications, chatbots, wearable technologies, and front-end/back-end development tools is highly preferred. Proficiency in IT system administration, cloud platforms, and database management is essential. They should demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, the ability to communicate technical processes to non-technical users, and a proactive, team-oriented approach to develop innovative solutions. Fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese) is required.
The appointee will work on the “Jockey Club Health Programme for Adult Persons with Disabilities” under the supervision of Professor Kelvin Wang. He/She will be responsible for managing and maintaining an IT platform to support health assessments and interventions customizing and integrating digital tools (i.e. AI-chatbots and wearable technology), and ensuring smooth system operations with minimal downtime. He/She will provide technical support and training to frontline staff, ensure secure storage and management of programme data in compliance with protection regulations, and regularly update systems for security and access control. He/She will also research and recommend new technologies to enhance programme efficiency and scalability, and collaborate with programme managers to design user-friendly interfaces and workflows.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
