Research Assistant Professor / Post-doctoral Fellow in the Faculty of Social Sciences

We now invite applications for the captioned post, who will involve in the Jockey Club End-of-Life Community Care Project (www.JCECC.hk).

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Involve in the research team of the Project to work on research and evaluation studies in end-of-life care (EoLC). Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Supervise a team of research staff on research and evaluation tasks in EoLC
  • Perform advanced level of data analysis (quantitative and qualitative)
  • Advance knowledge based on the data and disseminate it through peer-review journals, press conference or other means
  • Draft reports and presentations relevant to the project
  • Liaise with project collaborators and partners
  • Mentor junior research staff
  • Support and perform other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

  • Ph.D. degree in Social Work, Gerontology, Nursing, Counseling, Public Health, Psychology, Behavioral Health, Mental Health or a related discipline, preferably with clinical experiences in EoLC or gerontology care
  • Good command of written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese) and English
  • Ability to multi-task and work on a tight schedule to meet project deadlines
  • Ability to work well independently and collaboratively as a team
  • Ability to develop a body of high-quality publications in scholarly journals with global impact
  • Proficiency in statistical software packages, including SPSS and R, for large and complex data analysis
  • Proven knowledge and experience in undertaking research related to EoLC is advantageous
  • Relevant post-doctoral work experience and an excellent track record of publications will be advantages
  • Applicants with less experience or qualifications may be considered for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow

 

What We Offer

The appointment will commence from as soon as possible on temporary basis until June 30, 2027. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
