Assistant Manager (at the rank of Executive Officer) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Ref.: 537463) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of relevant post-qualification work experience in the tertiary education sector and/or executive support. Prior experience in high-level secretarial support and Research Postgraduate (RPg) programme administration is highly desirable. They should demonstrate an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua), exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and sound judgment in handling confidential matters, and possess strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail. The successful applicant must demonstrate maturity, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines. A proactive, adaptable, and service-oriented work attitude is essential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing comprehensive personal secretarial and executive support to the Head of Department;
- Managing the full spectrum of Research Postgraduate (RPg) academic programme administration;
- Supporting major events, promotional activities, and public relations initiatives;
- Providing secretarial and administrative support to departmental committees and working groups;
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders on departmental and programme-related matters; and
- Performing other duties as assigned.
