Part-Time Research Nurse in the Clinical Trials Centre (Ref.: 537537)

The Clinical Trials Centre (HKU-CTC) is a leading clinical trials management platform established under The University of Hong Kong LKS Faculty of Medicine (HKUMed) and is dedicated to managing and facilitating international-standard clinical trials on new drugs, medical devices and medical technologies.  HKU-CTC offers long-term development opportunities to passionate talents who are devoted to a career in the clinical trial profession.

HKU-CTC’s Phase 1 Clinical Trials Unit (Phase 1 Unit) is a professional clinical trials facility located at the Queen Mary Hospital and dedicated to conducting phase 1 and early phase clinical trials.  We are seeking a high calibre talent who have the passion in promoting healthcare advancement through practising clinical research to join our Phase 1 Unit as a Part-Time Research Nurse.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for clinical trial coordination and operations;
  • Recruit trial volunteers;
  • Execute study procedures, data collection and documents management, medical emergency management, facilities management and quality management;
  • Communicate with research teams and internal/external collaborators; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing;
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of Hong Kong;
  • A minimum of 1 year’s nursing experience is preferred;
  • Good interpersonal, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality and compliance;
  • Detail-minded, self-motivated, and able to multitask; and
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Both Cantonese & Mandarin);
  • Candidates with the following qualifications will have an advantage:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, and a venipuncture certificate;
  • Experience in clinical trial operations and knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP);
  • Experience in using electronic devices (e.g., tablets and computers) for efficient and accurate clinical data capture.

The appointment will be made on a part-time temporary basis on a six-month contract, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.  A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.
