Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in News Literacy in the Journalism and Media Studies Centre (JMSC) (Ref.: 497163), to commence as soon as possible for one year.
Applicants should possess a doctoral degree in the fields relevant to news and media education practice and research. They should have strong communication and interpersonal skills; some teaching experience; and an excellent command of written and spoken English. Preference will be given to those with experience in interdisciplinary approaches to media literacy in behavioural sciences (e.g. cognitive psychology, media anthropology), communications (e.g. audience studies, propaganda) and education (e.g. pedagogical and andragogical analysis).  Fluency in other Asian languages, especially those spoken in South East Asian countries, is an advantage.
The appointee will work on various news and media literacy initiatives led by JMSC in Asian countries, and undertake research on their efficacy and impact. The appointee will also engage in curriculum development, and provide assistance in building a network of scholars and other stakeholders in the region.
