Senior Research Assistant (holding the functional title of Project Officer) in the Sau Po Centre on Ageing within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.: 498576) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should possess a Master's degree or above in Statistics, Computer Science, Public Health, or a related discipline with at least one year’s post qualification. They should be familiar with programming languages (such as SAS or R), and have adequate knowledge of quantitative research methods and statistical softwares (such as SPSS), as well as a good command of written and spoken English. Those with expertise in data engineering, especially in handling large datasets, and 3 years’ work experience in health science research are preferred. The appointee will contribute to a project that aims to empower the young-old generation to better prepare for the second half of their lives through increased autonomy, connectedness and competence. He/She will be responsible for the development of an online self-assessment platform; big data analysis in health, mental health, and service matching; and other research-related duties as assigned. He/She will have ample opportunity to collaborate with computer science and social sciences experts for cultivation of research potential for the possibility of PhD study.
