Applications are invited for appointment as Administrative Assistant I/II (AA I/II) (several posts) in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 500006), to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree and preferably a higher degree, with at least 6 years' supervisory experience in the higher education sector or a public/quasi-public organization. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; exceptional interpersonal, organizational, project management and decision-making skills; and a strong sense of integrity. Demonstrated leadership and proven experience in one or more of the following areas are essential: (a) human resources; (b) financial management; (c) research administration; (d) teaching and learning; (e) strategic planning and development; (f) events and external communications; and (g) general services. Those with less experience may be considered as AA II.
The appointees will play a vital role in leading junior executive and clerical staff to support a wide range of administrative functions in the School, including staffing, financial budgeting, research administration, education programme management, committee servicing, marketing and communications, accommodation, and institutional partnership. They will liaise with internal and external stakeholders, assist in the development and implementation of strategic plan and policies, and perform other duties as assigned. Work outside office hours and on weekends may be required occasionally. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and/or written test.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 15% of basic salary for AA I, and 10% of basic salary for AA II.
