Nurse/Enrolled Nurse in the School of Public Health (Ref: 500489) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should be registered or enrolled with the Nursing Council of Hong Kong. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese), and a keen interest in research in epidemiology and public health. They should be organized, responsible, detail-minded, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as a team. Experience in medical research, statistical analysis and blood-taking would be an advantage.
The appointee will assist in the implementation and/or management of a community-based study in Hong Kong. He/She will recruit participants, administer questionnaire, collect clinical specimens including blood draws, conduct health education, and carry out active surveillance of illnesses. Those with more experience will also assist in the strategic planning of the study, writing up standardized operating procedures (SOPs) and training junior research staff. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
