Technical Officer/Senior Technical Officer in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 500573) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should possess 5 passes in HKCEE including English (min. Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007), OR min. Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSEE including English Language, a recognized certificate for laboratory technician or equivalent, and at least 5 years’ relevant experience in school practical work in Physics and Chemistry/Biology/Integrated Science/STEM education. They should have a high level of competence in routine and non-routine school practical work, the ability to maintain student-designed project work, an interest in developing new experiments and procedures, and the ability to work independently and pro-actively to perform routine laboratory maintenance and organisational tasks. Those with a Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years’ experience may be appointed as Senior Technical Officer.
The appointee will provide hardware and software support for desktop computers and operation of audio-visual equipment in laboratories and classrooms. Experience in maintaining online learning platform such as Moodle or WebCT would be a definite advantage. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a practical test and an interview.
