Applications are invited for appointment as Administrative Assistant I (holding the functional title of Senior Project Manager) in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 503546), to commence as soon as possible for three years, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a good university degree, preferably a postgraduate degree in social sciences or a related discipline, with at least 8 years’ project management and supervisory experience in the higher education or public/quasi-public sectors. They should be a self-starter with demonstrated capacity for independent action and sound decision-making. They should have an excellent command of English and Chinese; a high level of interpersonal, organizational, time management and project management skills; an appropriate level of IT knowledge; and the ability to implement and monitor multiple large-scale projects.

The appointee will assist the Division Head and Principal Investigators, and collaborate with local and international funding bodies, academic and research staff members, government departments, and technical professionals. He/She will oversee a wide range of public health multi-disciplinary research projects, ensure compliance with various grant reporting and application requirements, and closely monitor the projects’ budgets and deliverables. He/She will also spearhead a wide spectrum of administrative and managerial responsibilities including managing the daily office operations, organizing conferences and workshops, human resource planning, financial budgeting, supervising junior administrative support staff, internal and external communications, and other duties as assigned.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointments will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
