IT Technologist (at the rank of Senior IT Assistant) in the Journalism and Media Studies Centre (Ref.: 508448) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
Applicants should possess a Diploma/Higher Diploma or above in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field, with at least 2 years’ experience, preferably in an education institution. They should have good English and Chinese communication skills and be a good team player. Experience in server administration, system monitoring, network security and CCTV systems, as well as IT support is essential. Working knowledge on High Performance Computing Cluster, VM/Container as well as cloud technologies would be highly desirable.
The appointee will work with a team of journalism instructors and technical specialists to deliver world-class journalism and communications education for an international student body. He/She will be responsible for providing quality IT services for the department, ensuring classrooms and labs are fitted with industry standard technology and tools, and assisting in special projects and events where necessary.
