Senior Research Assistant/Research Assistant I/II (several posts) in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 508582) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in public health, medical science, biomedicine, or related disciplines. They should have a good command of spoken and written of English and Chinese, and a keen interest in epidemiological research. They should be organized, responsible, detail-minded, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a team. Experience in clinical research, blood-taking, data management (e.g. using REDCap), statistical analysis, and/or infectious disease epidemiology would be an advantage. Those with 3 years’ relevant experience or more may be considered for appointment as Senior Research Assistant.

The appointee will work on community-based studies of the epidemiology and vaccine responses of respiratory virus infections including COVID-19 and influenza. He/She may be tasked to recruit participants via mass publicity efforts or screening in outreach centres; conduct regular follow-up activities including in-person/telephone interviews, specimen collection and health education; prepare study documents; perform literature review; assist in data management, cleaning and analyses; prepare publications and reports; facilitate quality assurance, quality control and internal audit; and perform other duties as assigned.
