Teaching Assistant in the Department of Geography (Ref.: 508872) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Master’s degree, in Geography, Urban and Transport Planning or a related discipline. They should also have excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, as well as a good command of written and spoken English. Those with experience in taught postgraduate programme administrative support in tertiary institutions are preferred.
The appointee will assist instructors in course preparation and administration; grading assignments and tests; conducting tutorials; supporting field trips and other academic activities; invigilating examinations; providingconsultative supports to students outside class; managing the web-based course Moodle; and providing administrative support to a taught postgraduate programme on Transport Policy and Planning, and Head of Department in the programme’s operation. He/She will also shoulder one undergraduate course and administrative duties of a research centre, as well as perform other duties as assigned by the Department Head.
