Senior Clerk in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 515162) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess either (a) a good Bachelor’s degree, with at least 3 years’ administrative work experience preferably in a tertiary institution; or (b) 5 passes in HKCEE including English (min. Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007) and Chinese (Level 2 from 2007), OR min. Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSEE including English Language and Chinese Language, with at least 10 years’ relevant administrative work experience in a tertiary institution. They should have (i) an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, (ii) exceptional writing and organizational skills, (iii) good communication and interpersonal skills, (iv) solid computer literacy, (v) a strong sense of responsibility, (vi) maturity and capacity for independent action, and (vii) good judgement and a problem-solving mindset. They should be meticulous and discreet in handling sensitive matters, and able to work well under pressure and tackle challenges.
The appointee will provide high-level support to senior administrators to ensure smooth operation of the office. He/She will organise and schedule appointments, provide logistics and secretarial support to meetings and committees, compose correspondences and reports, handle enquiries and requests from internal and external stakeholders, manage personnel and confidential matters, support School administration, and perform other ad hoc duties as assigned. Working outside normal office hours and on weekends/public holidays may be required occasionally. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and a written test.
