Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Microbiology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 515175), to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Microbiology, Microbial Bioinformatics or a related discipline. Expertise and/or work experience in bioinformatics analysis of microbial genomes and/or Oxford Nanopore Technology are preferred. Applicants with publications in antimicrobial resistance genomics or metagenomics research would have an advantage. The appointee will write competitive grant proposals and apply for funding; adopt acquired research skills and explore new options; and mentor junior research staff members. He/She will work under the supervision of Dr. P.L. Ho. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview.
